"If you do not create change, change will create you." - Unknown

We are constantly presented with change. The seasons change, time changes, we change. As human beings, we are steadily going through changes in our moods, habits, interests, ideas, and so much more. Ultimately, change is inevitable. Yet, sometimes we are resistant to it and reluctant to accept it. Change, however, brings about many positive aspects, some of which we won't realize unless we open our minds.

Personal Growth

Change invites a lot of personal growth into your life when you have come to accept it. Every time change occurs, you grow and learn new things. Even when you are presented with a change you were not expecting and it leads you down a path you did not expect to be, it still invokes growth and learning. This, ultimately, enhances our relationship with ourselves. Discovering our true selves, often times, involve changing. Whether it be changing our mindsets, thoughts, or beliefs, in finding ourselves, we undergo changes that ultimately are to make us better human beings.

Improvements

Like personal growth, change also brings on improvements. Actually, they go hand in hand. We all have things in our lives that we wish to improve on. Whether it be our jobs, finances, relationships, or health, there are things that we do want to see changed for the better. However, to see these improvements, we do need to enact some change. We need to do things differently to see this. While practice does make perfect, sticking to a routine may cause a load of repetitiveness that does not bring on anything new. Without change, there couldn't be improvements and improvements themselves also bring about change.

Life Values

Everyone lives their life a little differently. People belief in different things, have different habits, and interests, etc. Everyone also has a perspective to offer and something that you can learn from. Change makes us re-evaluate our lives and our mindsets. Sometimes, it places us in the position to see things from a different outlook that may or may not strengthen our life values, or make us realize what they truly are. With this fresh sight, we are awakened to new ideas and things that we may have been closed off to before. Ultimately, it is about being open-minded and open to change and all the things it can bring.

Strength

When something unexpected happens - the death of a loved one, the loss of a supposed steady job - we often times find ourselves in a tough spot. Not all changes lead us down pleasant and positive paths, but it is what you do with that change that can make you stronger and bring in the sunlight after the storm. Therefore, change makes us stronger and thickens our skin. Unexpected, seemingly negative changes are simply just another learning opportunity if looked at in the right light.

Opportunities

And speaking of opportunities, that is what also comes with change. Let's say you've been working the same job for a few years now. You've been thinking of leaving because it does not make you as happy as it once did, but you're afraid of change. Well, leaving that job and being open to change may present opportunities for you to do something you enjoy even more. We never know what change can bring but it does present the opportunity for happiness and fulfillment.

New Beginnings

Life is like a long novel with each chapter presenting new struggles, goals, and experiences. Change is like a turning page in the books of our lives. It can bring about new beginnings and fulfillment. As the saying goes, when one door closes, another one opens and, just like that, every ending is a new beginning.

Change should not be viewed as our enemy. Change is our friend; there for us in the good times and there to show us the truth in the bad times. Perhaps not all changes are seemingly positive but they all present us a chance to grow because that is what change essentially can be: growth.
